We are thrilled to announce that Koji Steven Sakai has joined Makimono
Entertainment as our new Chief Creative Officer. With his unparalleled
expertise in storytelling across film, television, and publishing, Koji
brings a fresh wave of innovative energy to our mission of crafting epic
comic book adventures, graphic novels, and beyond—without editorial
agendas, just pure, thrilling narratives that harken back to the Golden Era
of Comics.
About Koji Steven Sakai
Koji Steven Sakai is a prolific writer, producer, and storyteller whose
work has captivated audiences on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon
Prime, Peacock, and Paramount+. A graduate of the University of Southern
California's Masters of Professional Writing program, Koji is the founder
of Little Nalu Pictures LLC. His acclaimed projects include the screenplay
for The People I've Slept With (2009), the recently released thriller
Damaged starring Samuel L. Jackson and Vincent Cassel, and Hulu originals
Ruthless and House of Owl.
Beyond the screen, Koji is an award-winning novelist, podcaster, and
instructor at UCLA Extension, where he shares his passion for screenwriting
and narrative craft. Born and raised in South Pasadena, California, Koji's
diverse background as a dad, baseball coach, and industry veteran infuses
his work with authenticity and heart.
