Makimono Entertainment "Maki-Treasure" Hunt – Official Rules 

1. Sponsor 
The Maki-Treasure Hunt (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Makimono Entertainment (ME), accessible via www.me-graphicnovels.com. 

2. Eligibility 

  • The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 13 years of age with Parental consent or older at the time of entry July 1, 2025 or later. 
  • Geographic Restrictions: The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States, unless otherwise restricted by local laws. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. 
  • Exclusions: Employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors and representatives of ME, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising or promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) or household members are not eligible to participate. 

3. Agreement to Rules 
By participating in the Contest, entrants (“You”) agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. You represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements. Additionally, by participating, you agree to ME’s Terms and Conditions as outlined on www.me-graphicnovels.com/terms and www.me-graphicnovels.com/maki-treasurerules which govern the use of the site and include provisions for dispute resolution through individual arbitration and limitations on liability. 

4. Contest Period 
Maki-Treasure Hunt commences July 1, 2025 and, is an ongoing monthly treasure hunt. A new Treasure hunt begins the 1st day of the month after a winner is announced for the previous hunt. Each hunt continues until a participant correctly identifies the hidden Maki-Treasure (i.e. the hidden heroes oath tablet hidden inside any one of the ME comic books) and submits a valid entry, as determined by the Sponsor. 

5. How to Enter  

  • Objective: Participants must locate the hidden Maki-Treasure Heroes Oath Tablet, which is inconspicuously concealed within one of Makimono Entertainment’s comic books. The specific comic book and location of the treasure change randomly with each new Treasure hunt. 
  • Submission: To enter, participants must find the hidden “Maki-Treasure” (the hidden Heroe’s Oath tablet) inside any one of Makimono’s comic books. Proof will be submitted at: me-graphicnovels.com/maki-treasure and will comprise of:  
  • A detailed description of where the Heroe’s Oath tablet is located such as the Book Title; Page Number; Panel; Where the Heroe’s Oath Tablet is in the identifying Panel, and in necessary any other potential identifying details.  
  • All entries will be through the www.me-graphicnovels.com/maki-treasure contest page. 
  • Entry Limit: One entry per person per Treasure hunt. Multiple entries or incomplete submissions will be disqualified. 

6. Winner Selection and Notification  

  • Selection: The first individual to correctly identify the Maki-Treasure Heroes Oath hidden location by completing the me-graphicnovels.com/maki-treasure form with the accurate details, as verified by the Sponsor, will be declared the winner, provided they meet all eligibility requirements. 
  • Verification: The Sponsor will verify the winner’s membership status and the accuracy of the submitted information. If the submission is incorrect or the entrant is ineligible, the Sponsor will review subsequent entries in the order received until a valid winner is identified. 
  • Notification: The winner will be notified via the email address used for entry within a reasonable timeframe (typically within seven (7) days). The winner must respond within three (3) days to claim the prize, providing any additional information requested by the Sponsor. If the winner does not respond or is found ineligible, the Sponsor reserves the right to select the next valid entry. 
  • Announcement: The winner’s state will be announced on ME’s website, social media, or other platforms, unless prohibited by law. By participating, winners consent to such use without additional compensation, as per ME’s Terms. 


7. Prize  

  • Description: The winner of each Maki-Treasure hunt will receive one (1) Maki-Cash gift card valued at $500.00 USD valid for 1 year from receipt of the gift card.  
  • Usage: The Maki-Cash gift card is redeemable for products offered by Makimono Entertainment, subject to the terms and conditions of the gift card. The gift card may not be redeemable for cash or transferable, except as permitted by the Sponsor. 
  • Taxes: All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. 
  • No Substitution: No cash or other prize substitution is permitted, except at the Sponsor’s discretion. The prize is non-transferable. 

8. Odds of Winning 
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible participants and the speed and accuracy of entries submitted. The Sponsor does not disclose the total number of participants. 

9. General Conditions  

  • Fraud or Misconduct: The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant who uses fraudulent methods, attempts to circumvent the rules, or engages in conduct that compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest. 
  • Technical Issues: The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or undeliverable entries due to technical failures, internet issues, or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control. 
  • Cancellation or Modification: The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to fraud, technical failures, or any cause beyond the Sponsor’s control that affects the administration, security, or fairness of the Contest. 
  • Compliance with Law: The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. 

10. Limitation of Liability 
By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless ME and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, agents, and employees (collectively, “ME Parties”) from any liability, loss, injury, or damage resulting from: 

  • Your participation in the Contest or acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize. 
  • Technical errors, including but not limited to computer, network, or software malfunctions. 
  • Unauthorized intervention, fraud, or other disruptions to the Contest. 
  • Any other cause, whether caused by negligence or not, as outlined in ME’s Terms and Conditions.  

 To the fullest extent permitted by law, ME’s Parties disclaim all warranties, express or implied, related to the Contest and prize. 

11. Disputes  

  • Governing Law: The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Arizona in which ME is headquartered, without regard to conflict of law principles. 
  • Arbitration: As per ME’s Terms and Conditions, any disputes arising from the Contest must be resolved through individual arbitration, without resort to class action. You waive rights to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, except for actual out-of-pocket expenses related to entering the Contest. 


  • Venue: Any legal action not subject to arbitration will be resolved in a court located in the state of Arizona where ME is headquartered. 

12. Privacy Policy  

  • Data Collection: By entering, you agree that personal information provided (e.g., name, email, state) may be collected, processed, and used by ME for Contest administration, winner verification, and communication. Such data may also be used to verify eligibility or contact potential winners. 
  • Usage: ME may use your name, likeness, or entry for promotional purposes without further compensation, as permitted by their Terms and Conditions. 


  • Privacy: Information submitted is subject to ME’s Privacy Policy, available on www.me-graphicnovels.com/privacy. If no specific privacy policy is listed, standard data protection practices apply, and entrants can contact me-graphicnovels.com/contact for details.

14 Miscellaneous  

  • No Affiliation: The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any third parties unless explicitly stated. 
  • Severability: If any provision of these rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. 
  • Entire Agreement: These rules, together with ME’s Terms, constitute the entire agreement between participants and the Sponsor regarding the Contest.
