OPTIMUM FORM OF VITAMIN CONSUMPTION
urprisingly enough, many people aren’t aware of this fact—including myself—before I heard it from an expert on the radio and did further research. Because it made a meaningful difference for me and my overall well-being, I wanted to share this insight with our fellow Heroes!
We all take vitamins because we don’t get the appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals from our diets for various reasons. You may already be aware, but if not, vitamin consumption comes in numerous forms, and some forms are more absorbable or soluble than others.
Basically, there are tablet vitamins (for example, Centrum at the grocery store usually comes in a hard tablet form), capsule vitamins that come in a gelatin capsule wrapping that is often transparent so you can see the vitamin inside the capsule, and then there are liquid vitamins. Big deal, so what, right? Well, when I learned that the tablet vitamins I was taking only allowed me to absorb a small percentage of the vitamin—because it is harder to break down in the digestive tract and most of the vitamin passed through—I said to myself, “I’m throwing money away, and this is a rip-off.” So I then looked into the capsules and learned of the benefit of the gelatin wrapping around the vitamins and how that makes them highly absorbable. Generally speaking, you are going to get access to all of the vitamin from that capsule because of the gelatin encapsulation.
I jumped on the capsule bandwagon and started buying the capsule form of vitamins from then on. Then there is the liquid form of vitamin consumption, which is the most absorbable form of vitamin consumption but tends to come with enough of a higher price increase that I told myself the capsule vitamin is good enough. Therefore, I figure Heroes want to be as healthy as we can be and want to get the most for their money, so be healthy and Hero on, Members!
