Veteran Creative Leader and Artist Guy Dorian Sr. Brings Nearly Four Decades of Industry Expertise and Martial Arts Discipline to Makimono Entertainment in new Chief Operating Officer role

August 11, 2026 — Makimono Entertainment is pleased to announce the addition of Guy Dorian Sr., an accomplished creative leader, CEO, Chief Creative Officer, project manager, editor, and professional artist, to its team as the Chief Operating Officer. With nearly four decades of experience across the entertainment, toy, and comic book industries, Dorian will contribute his vision, extensive credits, and proven creative leadership to the company’s ongoing projects and portfolio growth.

Dorian has collaborated with major studios and publishers including Marvel, DC, IDW, 20th Century Fox, Storm King Productions, and Toy Biz, as well as celebrated independent creators and studios. First and foremost a creator of stories, characters, and original intellectual properties, he draws on a strong foundation in traditional arts and design to guide the full creative process—from concept development and storytelling through to distinctive visual solutions that entertain, enlighten, and inspire.

His professional credits include pencils on titles such as ROM: Space Knight, G.I. Joe, ROM & the Micronauts, The New Warriors, Night Thrasher, Star Wars Comics to Color, and various Spider-Man projects, along with inking a wide range of Marvel characters. He co-created the character Scorch for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and contributed artwork for X-Men: Apocalypse movie posters. Additional highlights include character development for the Silver Surfer animated series and toy designs for properties such as WWE, The Tick, The Three Stooges, and Hercules and Xena. His work has appeared in the cult classic film Chasing Amy and across Marvel toys, books, activity books, video games, posters, apparel, and related merchandise. Dorian has also contributed to iconic Stan Lee and Jack Kirby creations and blockbuster characters including Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Loki, Ultron, Red Skull, and the Avengers.

Beyond his creative achievements, Dorian brings a deep personal commitment to martial arts. He has trained in Kung Fu, Hung Gar Kung Fu, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Aikido, kickboxing, and Western boxing—practices that have instilled lasting lessons in discipline, humility, and perseverance. His martial arts journey led him to the Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng, China, fulfilling a childhood dream. His Wing Chun lineage traces through Grandmaster William Cheung, a childhood friend of Bruce Lee who introduced the legendary martial artist to Master Ip Man. Over the years, Dorian has trained and sparred with practitioners from around the world. Today, his name is permanently engraved on a monument at the Shaolin Temple alongside fellow Wing Chun practitioners, marking a lifelong dedication to the arts.
